"Don't have sympathy for any motherfucker" - Henry Rollins, Talk is Cheap Vol. I
I've learned the most about creation by dissecting the worlds of others. To the point my reviews may read more like research papers (of the popular, rather than the academic kind).
Being one way of saying "Here There Be Spoilers!" To put it another way, I think readers will learn as much about me, as they will about the subject. In any event, promotion and detraction is important. There's a lot of noise in the world, and little bandwidth to hear it. I want to amplify artworks and artists I treasure , and tone down the junk. Of course, "treasure" and "junk" have some broad definitions...
What's the Deal?
My reviews do two things: assess the quality of a product compared to its cost, and analyze the content for amusement. What I think about this stuff really doesn't matter as much as saving you time and money. Nor as much as spreading somebody's art. But when it's a lonely Sunday night and you don't look forward to school the next day, I'd like my views to perk you up a bit.
Most of the included reviews have counterparts on other sites. However, all articles on Brianranzoni.com are longer and more detailed, if not completely rewritten. I also don't get paid a red cent for the material here. Download the PDFs for free, print them off, and give 'em away (just mind my rights)!
Why the Sellout?
Reviews aren't the only way I promote stuff. I also practice customer loyalty to companies that have treated me well. Some of those companies return the favor with a little somethin'-somethin' to defray the costs of my web site. Others don't give me nothin' but permission to pimp this web corner. Either way, if my reviews give you that shopper's itch, please follow the links and banners--after you review my Privacy Policy, that is.
Who You Callin'?
Contact Me if you think my links and banners are obtrusive, broken, or insufficient. Comment on my writings at each page (registered Facebook users only). And most important of all, pay a visit to these works and their artists!
